Shift the Stanhope around until you find the best angle for viewing the photo.
For best results
Gently wipe the domed end of the Stanhope with a polishing cloth.
Avoid covering the Stanhope's flat end with your fingers.
If it has one, use your device's front-facing camera. This will make it easier to position the Stanhope.
An added advantage of using the front-facing camera is that you can place your device flat on a table.
